What color would you describe John's hair as? Usually it looked a light-mid brown color, but in some pictures it looked darker and in some it looked almost red (like on the Abbey Road cover).

Yes, I'd say it was light brown but I know what lennonfan means about it sometimes looking red. His mother had red hair, so he probably got that from her.
This is what Yoko said about it in the liner notes to the John Lennon Anthology:
"In person, John was a much more attractive man than the one you saw in photos and films. He had very fair, delicate skin and soft, sandy hair with a touch of red in it when the light hit it in a certain way. I would kid him and say: "You're a redhead!" He would say: "Never!"

I think if you have any red at all in your hair, as Yoko said in the quote I posted, you can really see it when the light falls on it. Mine is the same - it's brown but sometimes people tell me it looks red.
Great pictures, by the way!

Mine does that, too... But it used to be blonde ^o) Huh well I guess your hair can change... (just like eyes btw, mine went from very blue to blue/green to green/blue with brown dots in the center xD)
I have also read it is pretty often described as auburn...
But to be honest, I don't care about the description, we know it was beautiful hair and that's all what counts! HAH. xD

Yeah well... I guess that's just because of the different angles the light's falling on it. Besides, your hair colour can look different when you haven't washed it for a while as well, or when you're starting to use another kind of shampoo.

Ok, so it was light brown, red, sandy brown, auburn, reddish-brown, dark brown... I guess we can't agree on one color. It was a nice color, anyway.

You can see the reddish hair in here: His hair looked a lot 'redier' after the Beatles split-up.
