Sometime In NYC is a great album, in its own right, but it's never gonna get the respect it deserves, even after over 35 years since its release. There are some great tracks on it, the album cover defines the times & it's where John was at an artist. I first heard it for the first time, back in 78, I thought the lyrics were way too far left, but from New York City, John Sinclair & Woman Is The N----- Of The World, it's a great album. The live concert side with the late, great Frank Zappa rocks with Lennon doing Baby Please Don't Go(Well) along with the live version of Cold Turkey from 69. STINYC will never get any respect, because it's too way out there, I believe for some fans, even after all these years.

There are some good spots on it, but it's not really a good album. Some of the lyrics are awful.

I have the vinyl and play it quite often. you know what other vinyl I recently got was the Elephants Memory LP, on Apple from 1972. John & Yoko produced and are all over the record. I believe those two albums give a very interesting overall picture of the musical picture at the time. Very political NYC movement, which is of the time but very brave and really cool for fans of John Lennon. New York City is a great song!
