I know this question will go on, for years & years & decades, long after Paul & Ringo have left this earth. The truth of the matter is, it wasn't Yoko or Linda, who broke up the band. It was the personal & professional differences between Lennon & McCartney that broke the Fab 4 up back in 69. I also blame Allen Klein as well, since he was a sleazeball & he turned up the tension between all four of them. It's easy for the fans to blame the women, but I stopped doing that over 30 years ago. If the Beatles would have continued into the 70's, they would have lasted, probably until about 75.

It was a mixture of different things that broke up the Beatles. It's not fair to blame it on Yoko or Linda or any one person or thing. They just weren't enjoying working together as a band anymore, and there were lots of different reasons that were contributing to that.

In my opinion, what broke up the Beatles wasn't a person, were the circumstances. Since Brian died things started getting difficult for the band, and after they left the tours and started improving as songwritters and musicians, each one of them found his own way and it wasn't being as a band forever.

I agree that it wasn't one person in particular. however, if it could only be one person, it would have to be John. He started the band, so therefore, only he could break it up. Simple as that.

I have read so much in regards to this subject over the years that I have come to the conclusion (for what it's worth) that both John Lennon & Paul McCartney were extremely strong "personalities" and began to (at times violently) clash, artistically. Their musical tastes was separating more and more, and the "Yoko thing" did indeed come into play because of her influence over John. Then there is the case of George Harrison, who was quite gifted in his own right, who was very ready to go in his own direction regardless of what John & Paul wanted. Then, there was the Alan Klein "problem". These issues, when combined, made a bad situation even worse and rather continue as a "bickering family", I do believe that they agreed to go in their own direction.
One note of interest: During the late 1970's, NBC offered each of the four members one million dollars each to perform two songs on the "Saturday Night Live" TV program. NBC has disputed this, but other people have since corroborated the story.

It was Yoko, I don't care how many people try to say it wasn't but she was the one who did it.

I think that a combonation of things broke up the Beatles and people just need to CALM DOWN and stop blaming Yoko or any one thing. And hey, don't dawn on the Beatles braking up, dawn on the wonderful time when they were together.
