This Big what if.........
I would have loved to see him come to the Uk in 1981 which was planned and to do a few shows in the mid 80's and hopefully got back with Paul & George & Ringo to do some recording. I still though wouldn't have thought there would have been any Beatle shows.
I would like to think that he would have helped Sean & Julian and even recorded with them who knows.
I have read in various books that yoko was going to divorce John and even spoke about this in April 80. But denied it after he was Killed. If this is true then that would have been very sad.
But a John Lennon show would have out sold mr Jackson. How many classics would we have heard in one night. all this is just a daydream that I would have loved to see but.....................
The world misses John and all the love and hope he bought to people. He will go on to inspire people and move generations to come. We have his music which is timeless. The world will never again see a shinning star called John Ono Lennon and something tells me, the world is a darker place without him.PS I LOVE YOU - The Beatles

If Lennon will be alive today; he will enjoy Twitter; Facebook; and Myspace. And he might travel around the world..

I believe John would have done one major world tour in the early 80's & probably would have done Live Aid. He would have written his autobiography in the early 90's & he would have retired from the music business as well. I know he wouldn't have done the Beatles Anthology at all along with being cynical about McCartney, the Stones & Clapton still rocking.

I think he would still be protesting against war and supporting peace.

He would be on the front lines of Occupy Wallstreet. And he would have protested against the war in Iraq.

My guess is that he would actively promote world peace just as he did back in the day -- but use technology available today (that was unavailable then) to even more effectively convey his message of peace to a modern audience.
The philosophy behind "Imagine" is as relevant today as it ever was.

Hello guys, I enjoy the forum, wanted to post my thoughts.
For those that say Lennon would be protesting if he were still alive, I am a bit dubious. While I don't doubt that the ideas he protested against in the early 70's were sincere to his heart, based on what I've read from his interviews in 1980, I think the protesting part of Lennon's career was over. He said he was naive back then and didn't like the way he felt used by the radicals he associated with at the time. In addition he recognized it caused him a lot of trouble (deportation) and was paranoid the government was constantly watching him and tapping his phones. With Sean to take care of, I don't see Lennon "risking" anything by going back into protesting.
That said, people's attitudes change and change again throughout their lives. Maybe once Sean was an adult and he was an older, mellower John, he might have used the internet as a forum to speak out on injustices.
And I absolutely positively believe that John would have participated in Anthology. I don't think John hated the concept of the Beatles as much as he let on. In the 1980 Playboy interviews, he spent a large portion of the interview discussing Beatle songs and stuff about the Beatles, which he despised doing in the past. Although he would always harbor contempt for Paul, he still loved him, as well as Ringo and George. He was not on good terms with George when he died, but time heals all wounds. 1995 was 25 years after the Beatles broke up. Enough time to let bygones be bygones and have some fun playing together again. I think if you pretend John was not killed and consider all the Beatles, I would think George would have been the hardest one to convince to participate, and of course he did.
Just my opinions. There is no way of knowing how this very complex man would have evolved over the last 32 years, but it sure is fun to speculate!

Good thoughts and I do absolutely agree I also think that the protesting-years were over for John. But I'm sure he'd use the internet to share his opinion about injustices in the world. Yes, I'm certain too that John would have participated in the Anthology-concept. He often talked about the Beatles during the sessions of Double Fantasy. Further, I do believe that he'd got divorced from Yoko and would have gone touring again. Snoopy For those that say Lennon would be protesting if he were still alive, I am a bit dubious. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if John would be traveling the country if he was still alive.

I think he would have enjoyed doing more art and being himself, always beliving in peace, but would have lived a life expressing who he was through drawing and in music. I belive he had an inner being to be more than just him and yoko. He was always john and that is who we loved. He was a gift to this world and will always cherish that.
