I’ve been a Beatles fan since 1964 when they first came to America, right from the beginning I liked them all but John and Ringo were my favorites. I was just a kid and thought Ringo was funny and yet I knew there was something special about John; even though I couldn’t really explain what it was. I still can’t tell you exactly why John touched me so uniquely but he did, I remember him saying sometime in the 70’s that he wrote songs that were meaningful to him and if you liked them that was great, well I loved them, almost seemed as though he wrote them to fit my life. I guess what I’m saying is John was not only a genius and extremely talented but he was also real. One of the saddest days of my life was when he died, I miss him a lot, a big part of what was good in this world died with him.
PS – I even raised my daughter to be a Beatle/John Lennon fan.

I was not born until '68, it must have been really exciting to be around when the Beatles were here there and everywhere.

It was an unbelievable time, the impact they (and IMO especially John) had on the world (and still have) was and is amazing. The memory and impact of John Lennon and the Beatles will live forever.

I must admit that the impending release of an album by the Beatles, either as a band or a solo release injects an excitement that no other artist manages. Even if it's only a compilation album I find I can't wait. Needless to say there has been a fair amount of activity over the last year or so and I feel like I am in a permanent state of excitement of anticipation.

Basically the reason I like John is his philosophy/politics; even though some guy I talked to said he was communist, even though there are MAJOR differences with his politics and beliefs and commuism >.>, his humor, and especially his music. There's really nothing that specific as to how I became a fan of him, but there's a lot about him that's really appealing to me, everyone says I'm obessed XD.

When I first met the beatles i was more attracted to Paul than any beatle. I think the reason of that was that he is "the cute one" so i thought he was cute and he was my fav one. When I start watching some interviews they had and start knowing more 'bout the life of each one I realized that John and me have many many things in common, that our fathers leave and we start living with our mothers and I sometimes go with my aunt for a month or so (thought I dont live with her) and in our personality too, the witty comments and that I'm always joking when I talk , we both draw and write strange stuff xD. We even have bad things in common. So i thought that at some point he felt like how I feel and I changed my fav Paul for John (thought I love Paul too ) And I love his songs too coz I hear that every one of his songs has a meaning, not alike some ones that just have lyrics to be with the music even if those lyrics say none sense things or even incoherences. And is strange coz I've heard many many bands through my childhood and I've never liked one as much as the beatles but I discovered that is coz they're marvelous! Actually I don't know if I love John or I just feel identificated with him..I think is the two things . But something that I definitely love of him is the songs..every one of them have a feeling that he want other people to feel through the whole song ( I don't know if you feel it but I do! ) So..for that and for other things I know (and some that no one didn't even know..) John is my fav Beatle and maybe I love him and i do love every one of his songs.

I like John Lennon because I like his music. Imagine is one of my favorite albums but the song is my least favorite because when he was killed, I heard it so often, I heard it over and over in my head. One of my favorite solo John Lennon songs is Mind Games. I disagree with him politically but I love his music both with the Beatles and solo.

I am a massive Lennon fan.
I knew of him, of course, but he really became apart of my life when a friend mentioned his music. I listened to it, and instantly loved it, and made the connection the man himself as well. The story of his life, it is tragic yes, but he is the coolest of cool. A candle burned at both ends has the brightest flame.
I am quite young. I find myself quite shy about being a Lennon fan. I have all the songs on my ipod and listen to them frequently.

I have several reasons to be a John Lennon fan... mainly the fact he was a rebel, since the beginning. I love him because although his huge success as a musician, he's been incredibly unlucky in his personal life, having had to face the fact both his parents left him. But his bitterness and roughness towards life and people were smoothening in his late years, he was incredibly positive in his last interviews and I was so happy to read how comfortable he was with himself. I love John as a musician because he showed himself in his songs with no veils. His music is still so modern and vibrant and I'm so happy how many youngsters are so interested in his work. Sincerely, I love John also phisically, to me he was an extremely attractive guy, expecially near the end of his life on this dimension. I like to think the people we have loved and we still do who are passed away, are able to feel the energy of the love we send them, and they send us back in some other ways. Ok, this is off topic, but this is what I was thinkin' a few minutes ago and I was wondering how much energy people who love John are sending to him, up there, in the Sky.

That's a nice thought, Bets. I'm sure he'll be feeling lots of love from all of us here on this forum.

I believe in the spiritual and the afterlife - these mediums are quite convincing. John is around, and he would be happy to see his works and message continuing I am sure. He would have been very honoured at the outpouring of grief he received as well.

O. M. G. LOL What questions. Gah. Well, when I first found the beatles I LOVED John's voice. I really didn't like Paul's or Ringo's really to be honest. Now I do ofcourse. Lol And his music, with the beatles *no pun intended* and solo, is just amazing. Completely. Utterly. Amazing. And his song writing... totally amazing. And... and.. and... HE'S SEXIER THAN HELL. LMAO 'Nuff said. *nods*
