Hm...y'know, it's kind of hard to describe. It's actually very ironic, because when I was a lot younger I was kind of turned off of John. I would always see those pictures of him with those granny glasses (which I'm not too fond of) and long hair (sometimes a beard too), and I thought he looked strange. I didn't get a very good impression of him, because the only album I had heard was the Two Virgins one (lol). But then one day I found a Beatles album at a thrift store, and as soon as I heard it, I was in love with The Beatles. At first Paul was my favorite Beatle, and he still is number 2 (John is number 1 now). But then, for some reason, I started to like John more and more. I started to really love him when I saw A Hard Day's Night. That changed my perception of him. It's so funny when I think about it. I love him so much now. You'd never know that I wasn't too fond of him a few years ago. LOL. I wasn't very familiar with him though, so it's not really my fault.
I am very impressed with his intellect and wit. He makes me laugh so much. And he's just so cute and boyish. He wrote such beautiful songs too. There's just something about him...it's so hard to explain.

I was watching an interview with him and Yoko on YouTube, and I found myself agreeing with most of what he was saying. He's brilliant.

I love him because it seems like (besides all of you on this website!) he's the only person who still wants peace in this world. Also, I really like his sence of humor, hair, smile, kids, music, and everything else about him.
P.S. As Lennon said, "If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there would be peace."

It's a pleasure for me to read your comments about why you admire Jhon Lennon, In my case I took a dvd of my uncle and saw his videos and in that way I became a fan, his videos and music really relax me, he is so cool, he had something special, I don't know what it is but when I see him and listen to his music I relax very much, Through his songs, videos and actions I can see that he was a person that really believed in love and he wanted to make a change, gave peace a chance, and he did it, I look up at him, I love him, I love the way he loved Yoko and his children and I love his music.

John songs are touching R.I.P John I LOVE YOU! I am a John Lennon fan - have been since - Love me do days - the Harmonica on that song was played by John and it was the harmonica that intrigued George Martin and helped him to make his mind up with regards to recording the group. I am one of the very few fortunate people in this world to have met John Lennon - in person. My wife and I called to John's home in July 1968 and John came out of his home - with Julian, and he spent 45 minutes walking around his back harden with myself, my wife Maureen and a young German girl - Renate. I have been to New York city - twice (I live in Ireland) and I composed the following poem which is dedicated to all New Yorkers. I wrote this poem in 2012 and you are all welcome to print it, make copies of it - put music to it - do what you will - as long as you don't put you name to it.
Nothing to Forgive
I have been to New York City To where John Lennon chose to live Do I forgive New York for John Lennon's death? There is nothing to forgive.
I can't blame the Empire City For the madness of one man A cruel cold hearted psychopath Masquerading as a fan.
He sought a notoriety and ten minutes of fame But when we talk about that night We refuse to speak his name.
An insignificant nobody A real nothing nowhere guy Who is now simply referred to as The catcher In The Rye
If You go to New York City Breathe in Central Park fresh air If you listen you'll hear John singing His spirit is still there.
John really love that city It's vibrant and positive Do I forgive New York for Lennon's death? There is nothing to forgive.
Richard Hall 2012

When I was 14, I watched the Beatles-films "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" and i found out that a scene from "Help!" (the skiing-scene) was made in my home-country. Then I started to read about them; first I prefered George Harrison because I found that he looks so good (first I thought they all looked silly, for this hair-style was also old-fashioned in my teenage years). But then I started to listen to the lyrics of their songs, for my English was getting better, and I fell in love with John Lennons lyrics. Then I started to listen to his solo stuff, and I loved it too. Since them I'm his fan, although I'm listening to very different kind of music, contemporary as well as the old stuff, but in the end it's leading me back to him. I cannot really say why it's exactly him for there are/were so many great musicians in the world. It's just like this.
A funny detail: When I was younger, I loved "Strawberry Fields Forever". My best friend is author and film director in Vienna, and his first film which became successfull is also called "Erdbeerland" (in English "Strawberry Fields"). It's also inspired by our teenage years in our home-town. The difference is that in his film-title he means real strawberry fields.
