This is from The Beatles After The Break-up by Keith Badman. I wanted to post it here because I thought it was funny. ;D
December 27 1974
John, May Pang, and his son, Julian spend the day at Disneyworld in Florida. "We went to Disneyland on what must have been the most crowded day of the year," John recalls. "It's funny, I was sitting on the monorail along with everyone else, not being recognised, and I heard someone with his back to me say that 'George Harrison was there today'. The guy was leaning on me at the time and he'd heard that a Beatle was there somewhere. He couldn't see the wood for the trees."

January 1 1962
Today is the anniversary of the Beatles audition for Decca on New Years Day 1962 (where they turned them down because they said guitar groups were on the way out).

January 1 1962Today is the anniversary of the Beatles audition for Decca on New Years Day 1962 (where they turned them down because they said guitar groups were on the way out). ...But then they offered the contract to Brian Poole & The Tremeloes (which the Beatles claimed was because the Tremeloes lived in London and would cost less for travel expenses). One of the biggest mistakes of all time.

That's probably the true reason, though maybe Brian Poole & the Trememloes audition was good. I've heard the Beatles audition and I thought the songs they did weren't very good choices (I read that Brian Epstein had chose the songs) but still Decca made a huge mistake and they must have regretted it forever.
