John changes his middle name from Winston to Ono on the rooftop of 3 Savile Row. (Though under British law he was unable to legally remove the Winston so his full name became John Winston Ono Lennon.)

Oh, I didn't know he couldn't change his middle name. Thanks for posting this, nowheregirl! After 1969 he always referred to himself as John Ono Lennon, but on legal documents such as his will, he had to use the Winston too.
