Please vote for which of John Lennon's albums you think is the best, and tell us why you chose it.

Plastic Ono Band, definitely. The songs are so raw and he's singing from the heart. That album sometimes has me in tears listening to it. And, of course, there's Love. And Look At Me. Oh, and Isolation. I could go on...

I agree with what you said about Plastic Ono Band and I was tempted to vote for it myself. Love is such a fantastic song I can listen to it over and over again and not get bored.
I had to vote for Imagine, though. There are just so many songs that I love on that album. Apart from the title track, there's Jealous Guy (one of the most beautiful songs ever written, in my opinion), Oh My Love (another really beautiful song), Give Me Some Truth, How...
My third choice would be Double Fantasy.

Havent heard them all yet. I'm still just a new fan. I got Walls and Bridges last week so I'll say that one.

My vote goes to Double Fantasy. Such a beautiful album, and the songs are more happy and positive sounding than on some of the other albums. I even like the Yoko songs, although I realize that many people don't and ignore Double Fantasy for that reason.

I think most of his best songs are on Working Class Hero anyway so that's probably a good one to start with.

I don't have Working Class Hero. I have Lennon Legend, which is another compilation, and all the official albums so I didn't buy that one. But looking at the tracklisting it does look like a good collection of his songs.

Oh, and Isolation. I could go on... I agree with this choice as well. John was fresh out of the group and full of musical ideas! Plastic Ono Band is the result. Plus the musicians on this album are second to none!

OH darn. I have no idea wich one to pick, I've only got Imagine and Double Fantasy. And I'm in serious doubt between those two. Ah heck, I'm just gonna vote for the one wich has least votes:P... *goes voting*
(wich means Double Fantasy, and I agree with jean. Much to my suprise, I liked the Yoko songs! *shock* lol.)

People seem to knock stuff that is too commercial, nothing wrong with it and therefore, I chose Imagine.

His best album is Imagine. But I voted for Milk and Honey because it's such a underrated album. Hard to believe the songs he did on that album are demos. He could pass those songs as finished songs except Grow Old With Me. Grow Old With Me was definitely in the rough stages at the time. I believe he had planned to put that song on the Double Fantasy album, but he had no time to rush it. Apparently, he was living on borrowed time. Ironic, ain't it?
