Looks like Paul is finally going to get rid of his ex and its about bloody time. Time for Paul to heal and be there for his kids. I hope one day he can again find the kind of love he had with Linda. Good Luck Sir Paul.

I would like Paul and Heather to stay on friendly terms for Bea's sake but I wouldn't want to see them get back together again.

I'm sure that isn't going to happen (I hope not anyway). But I'd be glad if they can be friends because its not nice for Bea to have her parents fighting all the time.

Forget about Heather, looks like Linda is still large in his life if this can be believed. Paul McCartney's Unintentional Dedication To LindaPaul McCartney was shocked to learn of a hidden meaning behind his album title Memory Almost Full - it is also an anagram in dedication to his late wife Linda. McCartney was unaware the title to his latest album could be rearranged to spell out "For my soulmate, LLM" (using her full name Linda Louise McCartney), until he was alerted by his photographer daughter Mary. But McCartney insists the anagram was not intentional. He says, "It was only when my eldest daughter said to me, 'Oh Dad, that's lovely.' I had no idea what she was talking about, until she explained. "I said: 'Oh my goodness, that's so weird', and she said: 'What's even weirder is that you didn't realize.' "I found out about it on the anniversary of her passing. Very weird." The singer's first wife Linda died in April 1998, aged 56, after losing her battle with breast cancer www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2007/09/06/paul_mccartney_s_unintentional_dedicatio

Looks like Paul has managed to get himself free but it comes at quite a cost. news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=313366McCartney 'to pay $120m in divorce deal' Sunday Feb 10 10:32 AEDT Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney is to pay his former wife Heather Mills $119.7 million in the highest divorce settlement Britain has ever seen, the British Daily Mail reported. The 65-year-old musician had promised his wife the money in return for her silence on their marriage, the paper said, referring to sources close to Mills and McCartney. The two parties had also agreed to share custody of their four-year-old daughter Beatrice, the paper said. The little girl would stay with Mills, while McCartney would be allowed to see his daughter any time and take her home every other weekend. Despite the record settlement sum for Mills, the total cost of the divorce, including lawyer's fees, amounted to only seven per cent of McCartney's fortune, the paper said. The musician's fortune is estimated at STG825 million ($A1.8 billion). Only a few days ago, British media reported Mills had been planning to reveal embarrassing details from the couple's marriage during next week's court hearing if a settlement was not be reached beforehand. The couple separated two years ago.

and once she has the 119.7 million how long do you think she will be able to keep her mouth shut. If some paper coughs up 25 million do think her greed might kick in ?

According to the news this morning the judge has placed a gag order on both parties so neither one can discuss the marriage without risking prosecution. I don't really understand why they feel the world is interested anyway.

There have been conflicting reports in Australia this week concerning Paul and Heathers divorce. One report in a newspaper stated that they had reached a 120 million dollar settlement. On the same day on the news they reported that the case had ended without settlement being reached and that the case will be ongoing?

According to a report I was reading yesterday they hadn't been able to reach a deal so it will be left to the judge to make a decision in a few weeks time. www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article3393109.ece

It shows us that the press print lies and half-truths masquerading as fact and news. Remember, the headline often bears no relation to the story underneath, and the papers hide behind quotation marks and alleged leaks from 'sources close to...'
What is quite frightening in this case is the way divorce law in England is going the way of the US. The issue of child maintenance has been, historically, separate to any financial settlement gained by a spouse. It is plainly wrong for a younger wife with earnings potential to gain so much for a short duration marriage. The courts are obviously now taking the view that a person is entitled to continue to live in the manner they have become accustomed. There have been landmark judgments prior to McC v McC such as Ray Parlour (Arsenal footballer) which have taken that view. In my view it is a dangerous step; in seems to create a two-tier system as most peple are not in such a position and gain very little from a division of assets.
