I really think Paul's greatest music sound post Beatles was from 1970-1975 and most people like his albums from this period the most. I agree, I love Paul's music during that period. He still wrote lots of great songs after 1975 but I don't think those albums were as strong overall as his earlier albums. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

What I find with a lot of McCartneys work is that it grows on you with subsequent listens. One of his albums I was less than enthused with was Press To Play. This turns out to be one of my Wifes favourite albums. (Press was in the charts when she was listening to a lot of music) So I gave the album some listens and eventually I heard what she had heard a long time before. I love this album now, it is funny how perspective changes.

I like John's work most (obviously ) but I just started listening to Paul's solo stuff. I'm not that impressed but I think I should listen more because I know he has some great stuff!

The thing I think is special about Chaos is that it is his deepest album in a long time. His songs are introspective and dark and the production by Nigel Godrich (Radioheads producer) is simply amazing! When Paul writes from the heart and really focuses on his lyrics while being coupled with a producer willing to experiment and tell the artist if things sound bad, he makes his best music. I think Memory Almost Full is a step back compared to Chaos. Memory is a good time fun rockin album, but Chaos has depth.

Paul's first one McCartney is an underrated masterpiece, along with Wild Life & should get more recognition as great albums. McCartney II defined the whole decade of the 80's, when it was just a few months old & the video for Coming Up is his visual masterpiece. I got Wings Over America for Christmas, back in 76 & it's a great classic rock live album, just as much as Frampton Comes Alive, at the time.

McCartney and Band on the Run are great. Ram is the first of his solo albums that I ever heard... I was pretty young and loved to go around the house singing Monkberry Moon Delight for some reason (and i still love that album A LOT). Also, I just newly discoved Chaos & Creation and Flaming Pie. Good stuff. Really good.
