This is a thread for Ringo fans to 'come together' and tell us why they love Ringo.

Poor Ringo seems to be ignored by a lot of people. In my opinion the Beatles wouldn't have been the same without Ringo. Maybe there were better drummers (I don't know - I'm not an expert on drumming) but Ringo had a wonderful personality; he had a great sense of humour, he was down-to-earth and friendly - what is there not to like about him?

Ringo is a cutie pie that's for sure. I love him for his sense of humor and how well he can play those drums. Ringo rocks hard!

I love Ringo. I get the impression that if I had met the Beatles he'd probably be the one who was the friendliest and the easiest to talk to.

So many people say Ringo was just lucky etc etc ad nauseum. This comment annoys me as Ringo is a great drummer and probably more importantly a decent person. Phil Collins said in an interview, ask a drummer today to set up so they could produce the sound of a Day In The Life and they wouldn't have a clue. ADITL is among the most complex drumming I have heard on any track (maybe I am not that well versed in music, I don't know, but this track alone puts any of the 4/4 drummers out of business). Love and Peace Rings, you still only have to answer the phone. ;D

Look, I just really wanted somewhere to post this picture as I think it's great. It looks like Ringo has just had an ear full from Aunt Jessie. What do you think?

Lol! I love Ringo, he has such an...expressive face. By the way, if you're wondering why i edited your post, I was just resizing the pic so it wouldn't stretch the page (don't know why proboards can't just resize them automatically : .

I had a poll on my blog to find out which Beatle people have the most in common with. The poll ended today and over 50 people answered, but Ringo didn't get a single vote.

Sorry I missed the poll now, I would have given him a vote I am sure. In response to this and to purge any ill feeling I went and played Choose Love. I love ya Ringo.

Ringo has always been my 2nd favorite Beatle (John is my 1st obviously). First of all I love Ringo because my mom loves him and has since she first saw him on Ed Sullivan in 1964, so I grew up hearing about the greatness of Ringo Starr. But besides the fact that I think he is adorable and funny, I also admire all that he has been though in his life. He spent almost his entire childhood in the hospital, his father left the family and he was unable to finish his schooling because of his illness and how much school he missed. Most people would not have done well in life, but not our Ringo. He took up the drums and became the best drummer in Liverpool.
Even after his fame, he remains to be a real down to earth guy. He has had so much medical trouble (in the 1970's he went into a coma!) and he always pulled through. He has been though divorce, numberous car wrecks, alcholism, being hit by lightning, the death of many close friends by tragic means, an awful house fire and yet he is still here making me laugh. So that is why I love Ringo.

Great post, Sara. I've always been a big fan of Ringo. You only have to read what John, Paul and George have said about him to see how much they all loved him and how important he was to the Beatles.

My mum hates Paul, who I love, but loves Ringo. She says he likes peace, quit doing drugs/drinking (which she actually still doesn't believe, but I do), and doesn't eat meat. She says there's nothing to hate about him, he's so calm. Although I read somewhere that on the rare occasion he loses his temper objects fly and he gets really mad. :-D I may be going to his concert in Kettering on July 8th.
