Hi,
What I'm looking for are John Lennon performance tracks that appear on other people's releases, such as "Yer Blues" on "The Rolling Stones - Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus [Live]. "
Are there any more of his performances (recorded live or not) available, & if so, where?
Thanks.

John produced Harry Nilsson's 1974 album Pussy Cats. He plays on several of the tracks I believe. Highlights are All My Life, Mucho Mungo/Mt. Elga, and Dylan's Subterennean Homesick Blues. He's on Bowie's Young American's album from 75. Co-wrote and played on Fame, and also plays on the cover of Across the Universe. There's a song he's on with Mick Jagger out there somewhere, called Too Many Cooks. He plays on Ringo albums.. some songs he wrote and plays on with Ringo are I'm The Greatest, Goodnight Vienna, Only You, Cookin (In The Kitchen of Love). He plays on Elton John's cover of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, which Elton released as a single, B-Side was also a Lennon track, One Day At A Time from Mind Games. there may be a couple more out there but that should get you started. oh and Keith Moon covers John's Move Over Ms L, on his Two Sides of the Moon album, cut in LA during the LostWeekend period. not sure if John plays on that though.

There is live recordings of the three song set that John played with Elton John at Madison Square Garden. They do "Whatever Gets you Through the Night," "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," and "I Saw Her Standing There." I know that they appear on Elton's box set To Be Continued... but you can get the MP3s seperately on iTunes and Amazon.

Also, the song "Whole Lotta Yoko", also from the Rolling Stones' Rock and Roll Circus has John playing on it.
And I just remembered that there is a bonus album out there that was originally released as a bonus to Sometime in New York City called "Live Jam" and it features John and Yoko jamming with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention from 1971. I guess that's not technically on someone else's album, but it is him performing with another artist. Not sure if that ever made it to CD or not though.
