The ballsy live version of this Lennon classic from his Lyceum 69 concert on the Sometime In NYC album is about as heavy as you can get. John speaking into the microphone saying " hello hello" along with his introduction of " this is a song about pain " before he rocks out is cool as well. You don't hear too much about that concert for some reason even though George, Clapton & Keith Moon were a part of the Plastic Ono Band. I will say that Lennon's Toronto performance will always be his best one as a solo artist to me but this version of Cold Turkey is rockin.

Totally agree, the guitar is nasty on that version. and I actually like how John sings it. he cool-ly enunciated certain words, I think it may be the best vocal performance of the song as well. what a killer band they had for that show. Heres the link to hear it www.youtube.com/watch?v=Quk9hc2muL8
