What was the dream of the 60's? Love, peace, brotherhood, a more caring society, and an end to fascism and war mongering. And what have we had, since then? Ronnie Reagan, George Bush Sr, Rush Limbaugh, George Bush Jr, Sarah Palin, and the tea bag party! So my question to all of you is this: Is the dream of the 60's still possible, or is it pretty much dead?

It's pretty much dead...at least in most of our lifetimes, probably. Even if the 60's, it never really took hold, once Kennedy was killed. The "adults" never really came on board after that. Unless things change a whole lot, the world seems to be more isolationist than ever...everyone just worried about themselves and what they have and what they can get. It depresses the hell out of me.

By the way, I understand many former 60's radicals voted for Reagan in 1979. Liberal guilt?
