It's not any language, Mike! (Unless you count 'Lennon' as a language ). This is what May Pang says about it on her website: Q: In #9 Dream, what does "Ah! bowakawa pousse pousse" mean?
A: This was one of John's favorite songs, because it literally came to him in a dream. He woke up and wrote down those words along with the melody. He had no idea what it meant, but he thought it sounded beautiful. John arranged the strings in such a way that the song really does sound like a dream. It was the last song written for the album, and went thru a couple of title changes: "So Long Ago," and "Walls & Bridges." maypang.com/faq.htmlI actually answered that question for someone on Yahoo Answers last week. I suppose it's a common question.

Right, thanks! I thought maybe it was just made up. Wish I could dream things like that. I like that song a lot.

When I first heard #9 Dream I wondered what he was going on about as well. I think the lyric in question propels the song forward with its dream like quality. Nothing is quite clear or logical in a dream but we get the basic message.

Took a walk down the street Thru the heat whispered trees I thought I could hear (hear, hear, hear) Somebody call out my name as it started to rain
(...)
On a river of sound Thru the mirror go round, round I thought I could feel (feel, feel, feel) Music touching my soul, something warm, sudden cold The spirit dance was unfolding
Only a genius could have written this.

I've dreamt of singing songs I've never heard but I try to remember the words when I wake up I can't,I think only once I remember some words and made them in a song but I've written so many songs that I can't remember which one it was.
