I had the good fortune to meet Sam Leach last week as he ws doing a book signing in the famous Grapes pub in Liverpool's Mathew Street. As fans will know this pub was a regular haunt of the lads during Cavern days. There is a picture of them drinking in the pub and the seats are still there. Many people have their photo taken there. Sam arranged many of the Beatles early gigs before Brian Epstein. We had a fascinating chat about the Beatles (and football) and his book is to be recommended. I'll upload a pic later. Sam's website is worth a look at www.samleach.com/hello_beatles_fans.htm

That must have been an interesting conversation! I've heard a lot about Sam Leach but have never met him. Was it his book The Birth of the Beatles that he was signing or has he written a new one?

It's the Birth of The Beatles but has a different title - The Rocking City : The Explosive Birth of The Beatles.
He is also doing talks at the new Beatles hotel.
