If John lennon were alive today, you could bet your bottom dollar he would be fighting Paul McCartney in the charts. 8-)Who do you think would be more famous and why?

I think they would have buried their animosity towards each other by now so that they would have worked together again, not on a permanent basis but just as Lennon/McCartney the song writing team.

I have little doubt that old wounds would have healed in time. Maybe the more pop PR minded Paul would have been more consistently in the 'Clean Cut News' sections of the Media, can't help but think that John would have had many deeper contributions to offer though.......

I agree with rhumour that Paul would be in the news more often as he would probably be more active than John in touring and releasing albums, but of course John would be equally famous. I'm sure there would still have been lots of great music and other projects to come from him. It's so sad that we'll never know what he might have achieved in the last 28 years.

If John Lennon was still alive, I think he and Paul McCartney would be equally as famous. I think John would be in the news more than Paul. They would have reconciled their differences.

I have to say that I think John would be more famous, not just because he's my favorite, I just think his talent surpassed Paul's in a lot of ways and he had more of Loyal following than Paul.

Paul would of been more famous. Lennon's last album before his death wasn't getting the same amout of publicity & record sales as his older solo albums, this would be a sign of things to come. He would released a few later albums which would do alot worse that Double Fanasty, and John Lennon would slowly fade away from the music, retiring in 90's or so. Paul on the otherhand has been succesful all the time, apart from a short classical music phase in the earily 90's, but he bounce back. Concidently, Lennon's murder saved his music career.

Both would be famous, they are Beatles after all. I agree. I see The Beatles in the media all of the time-news about all 4. So, I think they would be equal. I disagree though that John would've faded away from the music industry. He was just getting back into music and you could tell he had a lot of plans for making more and more wonderful albums.

I would think that they would both be famous today because they would both make new songs and they would have gained popularity

Perhaps John Lennon would be a record producer if he was still alive. I see him as still having some kind of role in the music industry if he was alive.

Perhaps John Lennon would be a record producer if he was still alive. Maybe. Though I think he would have preferred expressing himself through painting, music or film. He said that during his exile he heard music on the radio, thinking how he would have improved on it, etc. John was all about getting his own message out there in some shape or form.
