Do we have any vegetarians here? I stopped eating meat when I was 14 (more than 11 years ago) but still eat fish (and other seafood) so I can't really call myself a proper vegetarian. I hope I'll be able to give up fish too eventually.

No. I think my parents would be mad at me if I stopped eating meat.
I want to become a strict vegetarian but my mom doesn't want me too and the rest of my family doesn't want me to either..but I'm going to to what I feel is right for me when I'm out on my own. ;D

That's great, Becky!
Yeah, parents DO get mad!! LOTTA people, actually. grr
yeah you usually have to 'explain' yourself, which gets into a big debate about eating animals, blahblahblah. me, i follow my body. i don't eat a lot of meat a lot of time. sometimes i don't want it at all and so i don't eat it. sometimes i crave a burger or something, it depends. i find it hard to avoid meat in my daily life at home because my aunt cooks for us, and if i don't eat...well you get the picture. i love seafood, so it'd be hard to give that up. and don't get me started with summertime grilling - i'd eat my shoe if you cooked it outside! lol so no, i'm not a vegetarian, but i respect those who are, and give them a LOT of credit for sticking to it!

I have to agree with you Ria. It is very hard to give up meat. I know I would have trouble with that but I want to try to work at it one day of not eating meat maybe fish and chicken but not the other kind of meats. I don't eat meat that much anyway like I used to. I try to avoid it as much as I can.

I'm not... I think I could be for some time, but I just... like meat too much to give it up
Someone told me a few minutes ago they saw John walking on the street once wearing a button saying "I Love Paul". And this girl asked him, "Why are you wearing a button that says, "I Love Paul"? He said, "Because I love Paul." - Harry Nilsson (How romantic, isn't it?)

I've been a vegetarian since I was 16 so its been a bit more then a year now. its not a really long time but I'll never go back thats for sure I wanted to be a vegan but I don't think a can be that not yet anyway.
my parents were actualy pretty cool with it my mum better then my dad. I think he thought it was a phase and prolly still does hehe. and with my friends, it depends. different people act differently some are understanding and respect my choises some are curious and willing to argue but others don't really care.
hardly no one knows. if people offer me meat then I just politly say no thanks and if its nessesary I tell them why. I don't like talking about it too. its just a life choice like anything else but some people don't get that.
