All you ever wanted was peace Yet, you were brought down with violence Our futures were bright But, then you came down and there was darkness From writing to singing, you are always there Ready to make us forget everything or think about anything Why, oh why did you have to go away? Even with you in our hearts, you're never close enough We miss you, John Lennon Thank you for everything "Wherever you are-you are here" Rest In Peace, John 1940-1980

When you sang, we all danced When you spoke, we sat entranced When you loved, we felt love too When you cried, we cried with you
But never a day has passed, since we saw you last That we don’t remember, Dear Johnny What you meant and felt and were….
When you wrote, we all read it When you played, we’d never dread it When you dreamed, we all saw it When you died, we felt the loss of….
The dream. Our lad. The dear one we once had.
But not a day has passed, since we heard you last That we don’t recall your life, Dear Johnny At rest now. Sleep now… At eternal peace now. Never to cry again.
Yet your song, it still lives on And your dream, though it may seem…. Is not too far to be reached. With the love that you once preached
It’s so true, that’s all we need Love you, Johnny.

Here's a little skit, in honor of both John and George, entitled: Tell me, Johnny, what is Heaven like?Oh, please, tell me, Johnny….what is Heaven like? ”It’s like the first day of spring, after a long cold winter.”Oh, really, Johnny, is that all there is? ”Not likely…not all. It’s much more than that…”Do tell! ”But whatever I say, it’ll sound too cliché…”I don’t care. ”Well, okay. It’s like gettin’ a great big smooch from a brand new love…and how yer little heart goes ‘pitter-patter’ and you feel all warm and bubbly inside….”Sounds like a line from an old rock-n-roll song. ”Well, whatta ya’ ‘spect, son…it’s me, after all!”Sorry, Johnny. ”Nah, thas’ okay. But what else can I say to make you understand?”Compare it to writing your very first song. ”Can’t. It don’t compare. I hate the first song I ever wrote.”Well, the second then. ”Still don’t compare. It’s much better than writin’ any song…at anytime…anywhere…”Are you happy? ”Happy? That’s a bit thick of you, ain’t it, son?”What’s that supposed to mean? ”Well, it IS Heaven, after all. If I can’t be happy here, where else is there?”Alright, so have you found peace? *chuckles* “Aye, the kind I only used to see in me dreams.”So, in other words, Heaven is like a dream? ”And don’t you forget it. The best one I ever had.”That’s good to know, Johnny. I’m glad you’re so happy. ”There you go again with the happy bit! So, whas’ all this about happy…and dreamin’ and peace…and love?”The same stuff you used to write about. ”Aye…and now I get to live it. Can’t wait ‘til you all get here. But I gotta run now, so see ya’ later.”Wish you didn’t have to go, Johnny. ”I’m not gone anywhere. Just think of me, and I’m near. Just speak, and I’ll hear…”Nice rhyme. ”Still ‘aven’t lost it, son. Same as I ever was, but more mobile.”That’s good to know. I’ll let you go now. ”When you do, just remember that I’m not gone. Jus’ keep dreamin’ the dream…livin’ the life. You’ll see how good it is once you get here. We’ll have a great bash and a laugh.”With George, too? ”Aye. He’s ‘ere. It’s been nonstop since that one arrived.”I’m glad you’re together again. ”Me too. More than ever.”So, what do you and George talk about most? ”Fun times we ‘ad. How still feelin’ the love you all ‘ave carries us right along. Don’t lose it. Keep the love thing goin’, right?”Will do, Johnny. ”Thanks.”Oh, and Johnny, we wish you both the best. ”Right. Guess you jus’ answered your own question ‘bout what Heaven’s like…”I did? ”Aye. It’s simply like the best of everything…”So, that’s how Johnny told me what Heaven’s like….and I believe him. Peace and love, Johnny and George.

Every year, on THIS day, I'm usually very upset. Every year, on THIS day, I'm at work in my shop. Today, as usual on Dec. 8th, I feel very close to the Lennon's family and to all the ones who love John. I know it's hard, but we better consider this day a chance to celebrate HIS LIFE, HIS THOUGHTS, HIS WORK and HIS HERITAGE. Believe me, while I write this I'm almost crying, but I want to share my feelings anyway. I love you John.

It's just getting out of one car, and into another" John Lennon I agree with you, Mrs O Boogie. I always try to think about his life rather than his death. I've been at work most of today but I've been listening to his music since I came home - that's the way I like to remember John on this day. It's been nice to read all the tributes people have posted in this thread too. I love you, John.

This morning I wrote a letter for John which I would like to share with all of you: Dear John: I think I don't need to ask you how are you...we all know that you are as good as can be, wherever you are now. Wow, it is incredible, 28 years already! In my case, it can sound kinda silly for some, because I wasn't even there when you left our material world, but it doesn't really matter.
Well, what can I tell you: Here I am, sitting writing this and listening to "Across The Universe". It was your music and your witness what made you what you are for everyone of us: someone to remember forever. So, it doesn't matter if you're gone for some, if some others think that you were just other person between the others. Yes, maybe you was, because as everyone in the world, you had faults and mistakes while you were here, but I guess there aren't words enough to say what you mean to me and lots of persons, millions more, who remember you with a special love today.
At 11 PM that Monday night, a little part of the world, of a generation was gone with some others hopes. Yes, it is true. For example, I can't avoid wasting some tears when I think of all of it, because I start imagining how it would have been if you were here physically. I can imagine your jokes, your words about the society, all the things you could have seen, the work you could have done...and the time you could have shared with your loved ones.
About this, what I can say and I think you know it even better than me, they all are fine as far as I can see. I can tell you that Yoko is doing an excellent work about peace and Jules and Sean are incredible musicians and persons. You must be proud of all of them. You will always be the most influent person of their lives, I'm sure.
But well...you know, some people say that one can't dissapear, without mattering what happens to the body, as long as at least someone else has that person in mind. That's why I think that you will never leave this world. There have been 28 years, and there can be other 28, 50....and you will stay here forever.
So I can tell you that as long as the world has your jokes, your pictures, your words and mainly your music, as long as people passes the word about you to the upcoming generations, you will never die.
I guess that there aren't words enough in this word to tell you how I feel about you, but this is just a little way to say it. Thank you so much for everything and for those meaningful and wonderful years. Thanks you so much!!!
LOVE YOU JOHNNY!!!

Oh, and I forgot! I edited this video, remembering what happened that night in 1980 and the days which followed together with the song "Life Is Real (Song For Lennon)": www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkXmNvPUuQk
