He married her for the reason any person gets married. He LOVED her. If you're asking why he loved her it's because he was always looking for a model of himself in a woman. He believed that Yoko was him "in drag."

John did marry his first wife Cynthia for the same reason he married Yoko. He loved her. Unfortunately, he was too young and he really wasn't ready to be a husband much less a father. They grew apart.

my guess would be is John always seemed to be laking a mother figure beacause his mom julia lennon RIP died when he was young so he looked for that in his girls but as time went on and Cynthia was there for him less and less he found that in yoko someone to control him i dont know thats my guess

I kinda agree with missjohnlennon and my husband has asked me why i think he married her when so many didn't like her. I tell him that there was something about her that made him happy so she couldn't have been all bad. And as long as she made him happy that's what he wanted. Through the good, the bad, and the lost weekend they ended up together in the end.

What a stupid question. Why would anyone even ask such a question in the first place

Through the good, the bad, and the lost weekend they ended up together in the end. That's the main thing here. John and Yoko were meant for each other, through thick and thin. She was exactly what John was looking for. Cynthia just wasn't right for John. However, Cynthia was a big part of John's life even if they didn't end up with each other

I agree with thisisaonebigword.Although i prefer cynthia i think that John loved yoko more than cynthia. When he married cynthia he was young and he was starting his career with The Beatles. When he married yoko he knew what he wants from his life.As he mentioned in his song "God" "i just believe in me...Yoko and me".He thought that yoko was a part of himself!

I believe that Yoko Ono is one of the bravest women around, she had to put with alot, not only from fans, but from the other members of the band. She was subsquently the sole reason for the break-up, but I believe they would have broken up with Yoko there or not. She wasn't conventional, she wasn't cutesy. She had a career and a life before John and John became a part of it.

John loved and adored her. He saw something really special in her. I'm happy for him that he found somebody who made him happy.

Why would anyone marry someone who doesn't make them happy? Everyone has their own opinion, but John wouldn't of been happy with anyone else so it wouldn't make any sense for him to be with someone else other than her.
