Ok I dont see this brought up anywhere. Anyone out there seen The Rutles movie? A quick history..... I am sure most Beatle fans have seen the excellant documentary, The complete Beatles. The Rutles was/is a Eric Idle ( Monty Python) movie based on the complete Beatles, but is called the Ruttleswho basically are the Beatles. The music is all original, re workings of Beatle songs, combining some together, new lyrics, all in all, sound just like great Beatle songs. I could go on but if possible, check it out, or download some of their songs off Lime wire or whatever else you use. www.rutles.org/

I heard a rumour The Rutles are touring this year which I find abit odd as they did a Farewell Tour in 2005

The Rutles are great, the film is called all you need is cash and I laughed and laughed. The best thing about the film is the great sound track, all of the songs incorporate bits of beatle tracks and you find yourself in parts singing Beatle songs, yet none of the songs are covers. Paul Simon and Mick Jagger appear but the best guest appearence is of course George who plays a reporter.

I think someone else should been Melvin the reporter when I first saw it and noticed Eric Idle played him and Dirk and when he kept asking What was it about The Rutles that made them so sucessful? I was like you should know you were one of The Rutles. Thaught having 2 different roles was abit silly.
