www.in2town.co.uk/Entertainment-Magazine/Paul-McCartney-is-hanging-up-his-Microphone/menu-id-4588Sad news for Beatle fans all over the world, Paul McCartney is going to be hanging up his touring microphone. The legend and former Beatle Paul McCartney has announced he will retire from touring next year after one final farewell tour. Paul McCartney, 67, is planning concerts across the globe to say farewell to his fans, which may include China's famous Tiananmen Square and CheckpointCharlie in Berlin, Germany. According to a close source, "Paul wants to go out with a bang. He’s played countless stadiums over his 50-year career and is on the hunt for the most unusual locations he can find. He realises that the older he gets, the less his body will be able to cope with the demands of extended periods on the road. He might play the odd benefit gig - but other than that he'll be putting his feet up and enjoying retirement." But do not worry yet Beatle Fans, the tour which will kick off in 2010 will last for well over a year allowing all the McCartney fans to buy tickets and say goodbye to one of the best songwriters the United Kingdom has ever produced.

I'll be surprised if this really is his last tour, but who knows? I guess he has to stop sometime and by the time the tour finishes - in 2011? - he will be almost 70. But, I think he still enjoys performing too much to want to retire.

Well, you might get your chance, Mike. Paul has denied these reports today. "All I can say is that I'm not retiring," he confirmed. "It's like 'Paul is dead'. 'No, I'm not,' is all I could say. I did talk about retirement in one sentence in one story and only to say 'No way, Jose.' But someone must have only read part of that one sentence."
McCartney added that he currently wants to continue playing live for as long as possible.
He said: "As long as people want to come and hear me, I’ll probably be doing this. It's just so easy to start rumours."

Oh thank goodness!!! *big sigh of relief* Thanks for the update Givepeaceachance. My heart dropped when i read the first one. I was like "NO! I've never seen him in concert and i still want to!" but i like many can't afford the tour he's on now. Oh on a related note i saw a guy wearing a concert shirt from pauls perfomance in new york. i had a strange feeling to want to run up to that guy and hug him. oh how awkward that would of been.

lol, imagineforlennon, that happens to me sometimes, too. Like the other day, when i was getting on the city bus, this guy sort of cut in front of me to get on. I'm still not sure it was intentional, but I wasn't in a very good mood, so I got mad. But when I saw him sitting down, he was wearing an Abbey Road shirt, so instead of being mad, I was just like aww a Beatles fun. He must be awesome!

I saw him in Halifax, it was awesome. My feet really hurt that day. I agree about the shirt thing, on the way to school the other day I saw someone where an Abbey Road shirt and I was so tempted to talk to him, he probably thought I was weird by staring at him.

lol Yeah seeing others wearing Beatles shirts is like a little *happy dance* in my mind. Just the other day at my college i saw a guy wearing a John Lennon shirt (i was wearing one too) I kept glancing at him but never worked up the courage to go up and say "you like John lennon?" Oh well.

It's not too much of a shock to me, Paul isn't getting any younger & most fans knew it was coming sooner or later. Hopefully he will reunite with Ringo onstage, one more time, along with his former Wings bandmates, during his final tour. I'm hoping he comes to the Time Warner Arena in Charlotte, the last time he was in NC was in 92 I believe & did a concert special for Fox here, at the time.
