John was writing deep lyrics, at the height of Beatlemania, back in 64 & this Beatles classic proves it. Beatles For Sale is a great album, it's not a masterpiece, but it still defines that era. The lyrics about his hair & his fate are about as heavy, as you get, in those days. Lennon was influenced by Dylan, more than the others & I'm A Loser is a defining moment, for him as an artist.

When I was 11 years old in 1965, I knew John Lennon was going to be my hero forever because of his voice in both I'm A Loser & No Reply. And 44 years later, I still get so excited when I hear his voice on both his songs and his interviews.

It would have been great if Dylan would have done a cover of this Beatles classic. I'll never understand why he & John never worked together, since it would have been phenomenal.

He could have written I'm A Loser when Cynthia was pregnant.
