I believe McCartney II defined the 80's & the decade was only a few months old, at the time it was released. Paul was way ahead as an artist, since this album with its synthesizers, drum machines & the video for Coming Up. He knew what the decade of the eighties, was going to be all about, before Michael Jackson, Madonna & Bon Jovi defined it themselves. Looking back at McCartney II, almost 30 years later, he should get more credit.

The 80's production brought music down to its knees. That horrible snare drum sound, cheezy keyboards, and just bad production. Some people just want to modernize to be relevant, to continue making money. Machines aren't human beings. I mean a drum machine?? What's the point of music then? And its not like Paul couldn't play drums...
