would love to see the show Euan, but I'm in the US... sucks! Anyway, I'll definitely be playing all the John records I own. and will probably pop open a nice bottle of whine for my hero

Thats looks like its going to be a great show Euan Buchan.I am not really sure what I am going to be doing yet on October 9th.I know I want to be watching the online feed of the lighting of the peace tower. In Iceland that going to be a live broadcast Yoko's web site has said. My own Dad was born on October 9th in the state of Montana. He would have been 88 years old this year. He passed away from cancer when I was in 20's many years ago.I am 52 years old now.So its a important day being John's birthday and all the celebrations around the world for it.But its my own fathers birthday. It has a very personal meaning and emotionally for me and my family. My family does not live in the same state with me anymore. So that day I won't be with them. But I am going to remember and celebrate my Dads life and also Johns.I feel sad that we lost my dad so soon. But I know he would want me to be happy and celebration his life

Oh, cool! I'm not exactly sure what I will do today. I will probably look at my books and listen to some music. And of course he will be on my mind throughout the day.

I listened to John yesterday and thought about about him. I also wore one of my John Lennon t-shirts.

I made a birthday cake and my dad and I sang happy birthday to John I lit three long candles and had them burning as I listened to my Double Fantasy and Shaved Fish records and I sung along of course and had a few drinkies. It was a good day Really nice to hear you guys were doing celebratory things, too

Sadly, my step-brother planned his wedding for October 9, so I celebrated on the 8th and the 10th...
On the 8th, my boyfriend took me to see the original Quarrymen (Colin Hanton, Len Garry and Rod Davis). Their performance was followed by a free screening of "Nowhere Boy" (which is FINALLY opening in limited release over here in the States). And since it was technically the 9th (being after midnight) when we were on our way home, we stopped at a diner so we could have birthday cake.
On the 10th, I went to see my favorite Lennon tribute act. His name is Peter Gendron and his show is called Lennon Live (lennon-live.com). It was a brilliant concert.
Normally, on the 9th I would have been in Central Park at Strawberry Fields across from the Dakota, but I couldn't get there because of my step-brother's wedding.
