Come Together: The Night Lennon and McCartney Reunited Valiant Paul McCartney, I presume?” said John Lennon. “Sir Jasper Lennon, I presume,” responded Paul McCartney.Such was the manner in which the two former Beatles greeted one another when McCartney showed up, unexpectedly, at a recording session Lennon was conducting on March 28, 1974. In the throes of his “Lost Weekend” period, Lennon was in a Los Angeles studio overseeing production of Harry Nilsson’s Pussy Cats album. www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Features/lennon-mccartney-1102/

It's a lovely story and it also makes me a little sad , because it never happenend. But anyway: Lennon and McCartney gave us a lot to enjoy.

I have read about this before.
These following two bits give me mixed emotions. Firstly, I feel really happy. And secondly, I'm sad that such a massive opportunity never had the chance of happening at a later date. Say, in the 1980s or at any time onward.
"the Lennon-McCartney reunion “was like yesterday. They didn’t skip a beat, just went right into it.”
“He wanted to write with Paul again,” she said. “He asked me if I thought it was a good idea. I told him I thought it was a great idea. Solo they were great, but together they were unbeatable."
It just makes me appreciate what we have even more.

I think they were both really coked up at the time so it was a bit of a mess.
