Have any of you here been to a Beatles/solo concert? How about actually met a Beatle or saw one from a distance?
I have seen Ringo in concert twice. The first time was July 2, 1995 under the St. Louis arch. It was a free show and it was really hot, but it was neat to see a Beatle. Plus Billy Preston was performing. The second time was in May 2000 and this time I had 4th row seats and I SWEAR Ringo pointed to me during the No No Song!
I have also seen Paul in concert on October 9, 2002. I had seats that were at the top, but I could see Paul really well. The neatest thing was that we all sang Happy Birthday to John during the concert.

I have never seen them but I know we have a few members here who were lucky enough to see the Beatles perform in the 1960s.
You're lucky to have seen both Paul and Ringo (especially to see Paul in concert on John's birthday, that must have been great).

When He was touring previously I missed him because I emigrated at the wrong time, he was in Australia when I was in England and Vice versa. So all in all I have not had much luck, I look forward to the day when he will return. My partner is aware that nothing will prevent me attending next time.

I saw George in Hawaii in either 1985 or 1986 at a Julian Lennon concert. George came out towards the end of the concert and he and Julian performed some of John's (Beatle) songs.

I would love to hear the story! Where did you see them? Did you pass out scream and cry? Could you hear them? I want to know everything.

I never saw them personally...BUT my aunt saw JOHN at her hotel in '67!!! Let me explain. See back in the day my aunt was studying abroad in England. She was working at this hotel to pay her mortgage and stuff, as people do. ANYWAY she heard all the staff members making a commotion about something, but chose to ignore it and took her place at the front desk. THEN she looked up and saw that John Lennon with his moustache, glasses & all was stepping into the hotel! She grabbed a camera off a local tourist and snapped a pic, which I've seen but am not allowed to have. It's too precious to my aunt.

Saw Paul in 2002 and saw Ringo in 2005 and 2008 (July 5th...two days before his 68th birthday)...All the shows were just great ! In 2005, we missed actually "seeing" Ringo in the lobby of our hotel by less than 5 minutes...I knew I should have run that last red light One of my best friends from High School and College is now the General Manager (top dog) at the Louisiana Superdome and the Arena (where I saw Paul in 2002) and when McCartney tours next year, I have been promised a backstage meet and greet with Sir Paul...I hope I don't make a complete fool of myself when I thrown myself upon his ankles

I myself personally have not. I WANT TO THOUGH. I hear Paul is gonna be touring again this year.... My friend's Aunt used to live in NYC in 1978....She caught a glimpse of John she said near Cafe Fourtuna. She was across the street and going the opposite way but she saw him! I'd be running through oncoming traffic just to see him up close! HA! (....Well, maybe not since that's sort of obsessed fan-like and John wouldn't have been too keen on the idea of seeing a crazed fan approach them thus-ly. LOL)

My first live show ever was Ringo Starr and his All-Star band. My parents took me when I was about nine years old. I still have the program from it. It is still one of the greatest moments of my life. Funny story about it though (and a little random ) I was only 9, and was completely obsessed with the Beatles, and that was all I knew of music at the time. So in my mind, there were no other singers or bands in existence. Just my Beatles. So Ringo did some stuff from his solo career, and then he said, "Now I'm going to do a song from that *other* band I was in" In my mind, Ringo was a Beatle...so I was thinking like, WHAT other band? Do a Beatles song!! And meanwhile, my parents were nudging me like i should be excited (since he was in actuality talking about the Beatles). I was only un-confused when the band starting playing the intro to "I Wanna be your Man" I would LOVE to see Paul live...I hope he comes to CT again...

Althrough I never met the Beatles or one of them in person; But I have a friend who met the Beatles during their ill-fated Manila concert in July 1966. His name is Ernie Santos and he gave George Harrison a Charcoal drawing portrait of him ( This portrait was made by his friend). George was delighted when he received the gift and also Ringo Starr saw it too and joked Ernie " How about us.." Ringo said.
