3. Age is irrelevant, it is simply good music. It is real music, clear, good beat and with a postitive message. That is definetely true. I've friends ask me why I like the Beatles so much because "they're sooooo old." Age is irrevelent for me when it comes to music. If I like the music and it makes me feel good, then why shouldn't I listen to it. When those friends tell me that, I tell them that I'm sorry I don't conform to every other air headed teenager in America that listens to nothing but Top 40 and Rap Music just because that's what is "popular."

You got it right, carlozzi006. Music is timeless and their music will never get old. I can't believe when people say their music is 'outdated'. Please... My friends often critisize me because I love the Beatles and other bands from the 60s. They say they're sorry for me being so outdated. Usually I don't bother to answer, what for? They know nothing. I listen to music I like, instead of listening to the songs on CD:UK or whatever. Of course there are some modern musicians that are great, but they're a minority. At least I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. How can a song like 'Strawberry Fields Forever' get old? The tune and the lyrics are amazing, and I consider it to be way better than most of modern songs. This is my opinion, anyway.

I think the fact that we all get on this forum to discuss The Beatles everyday is proof that the music isn't out-dated. Also, people can go on and listen to that garbage rap all they want. I feel sorry for them, because they don't know what they're missing!

I first got into the Beatles when my best friend did a power point project on 60's music for band class. I remember her pointing at ringo and saying "he has a huge nose!" then she played a song of theirs. i don't remember which one. Ever since then all i think and do has to do with the Beatles! I was always drawn to john! My friend and i both are obsessed so its good to have someone to talk about anything Beatly. lol I remember i asked her who she thought was hot out of the four and she said "John except for the whole jesus stage...bit of a turn off." we laughed are asses off! My dad likes the Beatles and knows a bit about them.....mainly because of me! My mom was annoyed at first....cause she dosn't like paul....but i think she's warming up to the idea. (usually i agree with alot of what my mom says but the moment she said she didn't listen to the beatles because of paul i was like........"no seroiusly, how could you not melt when he winks!" I got my brother hooked on their music. But not that bad. STORY TIME!!!! *************** ok one time i was at the gas station waiting in line and i had my radio cranked up listening to Come Together. (Seriously Thats the only way to listen to their music! loud loud loud!) Anyway I kept getting alot of dirty looks from this old lady and old man. I just tuned it up and sang along! Who cares? you are who you are John lennon taught me that. Well i've rambled enough. Peace and love!

I've been a Beatles fan, literally, since I was born. It's the music I grew up listening to, and some of the first songs I can recollect were theirs. So, yes, my entire family knows that I'm a Beatles fan. My sisters all like their music as well and were with me when we went to see the tribute band "Revolution" and we cut up and had a great time, which is usually the case when we're all together. Ironically, I have 3 sisters, so there are four of us total and I can compare us all to the lads during their heyday in some sense. My eldest sister is most like Ringo. She says things that are hilarious without even knowing it and then she'll ask, "What did I do this time?" She also wears lots of rings. Really. She's a flashy sort but also very down-to-Earth and at her house, everyone is at home. The one closest to me in age is most like George. Very funny and thoughtful. She confides in me the most. She's also very sneaky and subtle with her clowning around. We can just look at each other and crack each other up for almost any reason at all. I can't take a sip of any drink when I'm around her and she's in THAT mood or else I'll wind up spitting it all over the place. Everyone refers to her as the quiet sister. We other sisters, of course, KNOW better. The sister second to eldest is like Paul. She's a songwriter and although she can play a number of instruments, you'll most likely see her seated at a piano. She has a lovely singing voice. Oh, and she has big soulful brown eyes too. Everyone tells her how beautiful they are and how pretty she is. I'm most like John. The songwriter, story-writer, poet and artist. The outward clown and most likely to utter the sarcastic. Blind as a bat, so I squint at everything while not wearing specs. I also play rhythm guitar and piano....and my next to eldest sis (the one most like Paul) and I are usually the ones that will listen to, relate to and create certain songs together. Ironically, also, my name is Rita. When we went to see the band Revolution, I met the Lennon impersonator, Tim Piper, and he calls out in Lennonesque-speak, "Ah, Luvly Rita....I know ye!" Then referred to me as Luvly Rita from that time on. But, great Beatles fan that I am, cannot possibly top our mother, who met the real John before I was even so much as a thought and was possibly the biggest fan of the family. I miss her. I miss him too. I am a true Beatle fan, like all here, and I appreciate being able to communicate with others who feel the same. My whole family knows and loves me as a Beatles fan, and luckily for me, they think it's a huge part of who I am as a person. Whenever someone asks a question about the Beatles as a group or any one of them individually, especially John, my sisters will point to me and say, "Ask her!" Everyone does really. All of my friends, too. They have a Beatles-related question, and I am the one who has the answer. It's been that way for years, and I don't 'spect it to change. But I'm always happy to answer. I am called the 'Beatles Expert' in my family, and I love it.

My entire family's gotten used to me and my obsession. And as for my friends, they're happy. I gave them four more men to add to their 'list of guys we can;t have' (others on the list are Edward, Emmet, Jasper and Carlisle Cullen, as well as Pete Wentz)

Well, it's not a very good reaction. Alot of people critize me for it. A friend of mine depises them without hearing a song, which is kinda bad considering he's a member of my 'band'. My family aren't really aware that I'm a big fan so I'm not sure of their opinions.

Yeah, I had to discover The Beatles/John all by myself, because my parents weren't fans.
But I definitely converted my mom into a Beatles fan. She's a Paul girl!

I also had to find them by myself, but my parents like them-just not obsessed. They know I'm a huge fan and they are really nice about listening to me talk about them all the time even though they usually don't care what I'm talking about Most of my friends all like classic rock to some extent, so they don't mind it either. One of my better friends actually got me a John poster for Christmas! I was so excited!

My family buys me little things Beatle-related--they used to think it was nice that I appreciated them but now I'm almost 30 years old and still obsessed, they think it's childish. Which is absolutely stupid. My husband is a fan but the way I go on about them, the fact that I'm in this forum, on youtube watching them, etc., he think it isn't healthy. Which in retrospect it probably isn't but John and the Beatles are my sanctuary! This world isn't getting any better and it won't for a while....I just love enveloping myself in them. It makes me happy.

John and the Beatles are my sanctuary! This world isn't getting any better and it won't for a while....I just love enveloping myself in them. It makes me happy. I totally agree with you! When I am depressed all I need is to put on Beatles/Lennon music and lose myself in it or put in a Beatles movie, or something like the Imagine documentary...and everything seems a little better and it completely lifts my spirits! I don't know what I would do without it. People think I'm too obsessed, but I can't help. Nothing in the world touches me and moves me like their music, solo or together. And my dad sort of appreciates my obsession. He got me into the Beatles and was always buying me all the Beatle albums on cassette. He is a Lennon fan, like me, and very knowledgeable about him but not as obsessed as me. For example, when I told sort of announced that if I had a dog, I would name him Winston, my dad sort of rolls his eyes and laughs because he knows that it's John's middle name without me telling him. It's funny. Imaginary - Julian Lennon
