Let us know if you've seen John Lennon mentioned anywhere in books, movies, on television etc.

This is from the book "Drums of Autumn" by Diana Gabaldon. (Brianna and her friend Gayle are waiting at the airport to meet Brianna's Scottish boyfriend). "Does he talk like the Beatles? Oh, I'll just die if he sounds like John Lennon! You know how he says 'It's me grandfather'? That just knocks me out."
"He doesn't sound anything like John Lennon, for God's sake!” Brianna hissed. "Can't you tell the difference between a Liverpudlian and a Scot?"(Of course, it's actually Paul who says that line, not John. )

I guess this is a well known one. In the movie Forest Gump, Forrest is on the Dick Cavett Show with John Lennon and they talk about Imagine.

When I was out shopping last week I saw a book called "Lucy in the Sky". I can't remember who wrote it - and it wasn't about the Beatles (it looked like a romance).

This is one I've just remembered:
The title of "The Shining" by Stephen King was inspired by the line "we all shine on" from Instant Karma.

In the movie Mr Holland's Opus Richard Dreyfuss sings Beautiful Boy to his son.
There's a Julian Lennon song in the movie too.

On a Simpsons episode don't know which one but 'Mother' was played on it. In the film Independence Day a quote "All You Need Is Love John Lennon great guy shot in the back very bad"

In an 7th season episode of Gilmore Girls, a character named Lane was put on bed rest and her husband, Zack told her not to worry and that "I'll hang out with you, just like John and Yoko." I was so excited when I heard the reference! And what's really cool is that Zack is a guitarist and Lane is Asian. I thought that was funny! ;D

We can't avoid it - John references are EVERYWHERE. That's part of his legacy, because we can relate to them.

I was watching TV and a commercial came on for a laptop (actually, I'm not really sure what it was, I was so excited) and the music used for the commercial was "Only People"
