eleanor, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one here who was a fan back when all four were still alive. I'm kind of surprised at how many fans are so "new" to them. You're not bragging to say that you had seen them live. That's great! I'd like to hear more about it. When I was in high school (a long time ago) there was a guy who happened to mention that his mother was from Liverpool, England. I mentioned the Beatles to him and he said that she had seen them perform in Liverpool before they were famous. I just remember him saying that she said they looked "small". I guess she meant small in person compared to seeing them on TV, in pictures, etc. I would have liked to have had a conversation with her! Hi BeatlesLane... It has surprised me somewhat to come on here and find so many young fans too...but nice..my two children are great fans also..my son saw Paul at Glastonbury the other year I saw the lads in my home town of Blackpool and was one of those screaming girls you see on old film footage....but as I've said many times no apologies for that ...... ;D They were fantastic ....well what else am I going to say...

Hello eleanor... I'm blown away by how many more younger fans vs. older fans there seems to be in the Beatle-related forums on the net, and some of the website owners too. I was too young to have been aware of them when they were together, but I discovered them a few years later from my sibling's albums. Then I was hooked for life! Even in high school, classmates wondered why I was such a big fan of a band that was no longer together, etc. What year did you see them in Blackpool? Do you actually see yourself in the footage of the screaming girls? That's great if you actually recognize yourself on film from then.

I think it was about 1964 ,BeatlesLane, unfortunately i wasn't one of the girls on the footage.......that would have been something ....well at least I think it would ....... On another forum I go on there is a Beatles thread..(in the main it's Beatles fans who post on it but sometimes you get people on saying something daft like they were overrated which even if you're not keen on them you can't say that in all honesty) and one of the posters on there knows everthing there is to know about the lads.....so i'm always learning something new even at my age...

I had to work a long day this year so I never got to do the usual and play some of his music. I spared him a few thoughts though and gave thanks for his life.

Yesterday was an awful day for me. I was very sad. Lennon has changed my life. I'm his big fan since I was a child. Thanks for all, John!

The tribute to John by Yoko was sad but I enjoyed reading it.
