www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=414783Yoko Ono has given permission for John Lennon's classic song 'Imagine' to have its lyrics turned into limited works of art. It's a rare occasion when Yoko Ono and the John Lennon estate give approval for anyone to use Lennon's music, artwork or words, but Its Pop Its Art have been given the thumbs up to create artwork inspired by his classic masterpiece 'Imagine'. The artwork is to be exhibited in London's PYMCA gallery joining previous creations inspired by a wide range of pivotal artists including Primal Scream, Motorhead and even Monty Python. The simple yet stunning print consists of blank canvas embossed with the imprint of poignant lyrics from 'Imagine', which is widely considered one of the greatest songs of all time and an international peace anthem. Airside - famous for their Lemon Jelly covers - who designed prints said of 'Imagine' "It's sentiment is pure and to pollute the print with any sort of ink would somehow be wrong. "Lennon is held up as quite a reverent figure so we wanted to reflect that. We had the idea to purely de-boss the print so that you get the lyrical contect from the light falling onto the print." Only 100 copies will be produced and available for purchase, and each will be numbered and signed by the artist making every one a unique creation. For more information on the exhibition or to purchase one of the limited prints go to www.itspopitsart.com

When I was In the Brisbane art gallery recently I found this, there was no reference to the beatles or Lennon (That I could see) but they are of course, the first three words from I Am The walrus. It looks great, would love it in my living room.
