Would George be interested? He was never into that side of the music business, he was embarrassed most times and felt used at others. I think he would probably not care to tell you the truth. But I agree, it is nice that he is being recognised.

No, I don't think George would really care. A lot of people say that John and George should have been knighted like Paul, but I don't think they would have wanted that either.

It's been almost two years since I started this thread, but it looks as if George will finally get his star later this month. From The Press Association: Former Beatle George Harrison is to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Beatles' former guitarist, who died of cancer in 2001, will receive a star on the fabled walk on April 14, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced. His widow, Olivia Harrison, and his son, Dhani, are expected to attend the unveiling.

Nice to see George is being honored at last. There's more details about this on the George Harrison website (in the anouncements section). www.georgeharrison.com

There's more details about this on the George Harrison website (in the anouncements section). www.georgeharrison.comAt the end of the article on George's site it says "on April 14, Capitol/EMI will announce plans for a new George Harrison music release". Any idea what this is referring to?

Much deserved George.
And I agree, John would have refused knighthood. But, he did mellow out a bit towards the end, so you never know.

As a dedicated Beatles fan for a long time, it was great when George got his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. I don't think it would have been a big deal to him, if he were alive, but it's still a good thing. The ceremonies are a bit cheesy, they're mostly done for publicity, even though he deserved it & Ringo is getting his next year.
