Are there any good books out there about Ringo? (Not Postcards from the Boys, which I've read, I mean actual biographies.)

The only one I have is the Ringo Starr Encyclopedia by Bill Harry. It's not exactly a biography, more of a reference book, and part of a series (one for each Beatle and one for the group as a whole).

There's a Ringo biography called Straight Man or Joker (can't remember who it's by). I haven't read it myself but I've heard that it's not very good.

I seem to remember this book, it has been a long time since I read but the author is Alan Clayson. I guess people think that Ringo's life is so linked to the Beatles story that there would be no interest in what he has done since. I would love to know more about the last thirty seven years, the highs and lows of Ringos life would be worth reading about as he is such an interesting character.

Yes, Straight Man or Joker is the only actual Ringo biography. My mom has read it and said that it was alright. At one point I had heard that another biography was going to be written, but I don't think anything came of it.

Ringo was supposed to be making a TV documentary about his life. I read about it last year but I haven't seen any more news about it since then.
