Paul McCartney to accept special BritPaul McCartney is set to be honoured with the Outstanding Contribution To Music award at the 2008 Brit Awards. The former Beatle is set to accept the award after turning down the honour previously. It is thought he turned down the award after believing that the acceptance of it would indicate his musical career was over. McCartney, who already holds a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution for his work with The Beatles, will now be presented with his own award on February 20 at Earl's Court in London.

Great news. I wonder what made him change his mind about accepting the award?

I've just been watching Paul on the Brits tonight. He was on for about 15 minutes and played Dance Tonight, Live and Let Die and Hey Jude. Edit: He also did Get Back and Lady Madonna.
