~ From "Isolation" (Plastic Ono Band)
I don't expect you to understand After you've caused so much pain But then again you're not to blame You're just a human, a victim of the insane

Those are really powerful, moving lyrics. That's why I love John's songs so much.

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool (Working Class Hero)

Some lines I like from the song "Cleanup Time" (Double Fantasy):
"No friends and yet no enemies Absolutely free No rats aboard the magic ship Of perfect harmony"
and
"However far we travel Wherever we may roam The center of the circle Will always be our home"

From "How" (Imagine):
"You know life can be long And you got to be so strong And the world is so tough Sometimes I feel I've had enough"

Can I suggest three beautifully poetic images from "Because"?
Because the world is round it turns me on...
Because the wind is high it blows my mind...
Because the sky is blue, it makes me cry...

Because is such a beautiful song, Jean. I've actually had a few arguments with my brother about it (he's not a Beatles fan unfortunately). Every time he hears Because he'll say "I knew there was a reason I don't like the Beatles!" Of course I tell him to listen to the haunting melody, the amazing harmonies, the clever lyrics...but he still just doesn't get it.

Because is one of my favorites. I can't understand people not liking it. I like the version on "Love" too.

"People asking questions, lost in confusion Well I tell them there's no problem, only solutions"

Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe (From "Across The Universe") Anyone else want to post some of their favourite lyrics?

J'adore Because, really. Monday I dreamed it was playing and when I woke up it still was (I wake up with Abbey Road playing lol.) and it was such a pleasant feeling, like I could handle everything ^^
But I also really like Lucy in the Sky and Strawberry Fields Forever. Oh, and Across the Universe. Well, I actually like most of his songs, lol.
Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream.
I know he's got that from a book (hasn't he?) but I just love that. And I really like Tomorrow Never Knows as a song over all. Oh, and Nowhere Man, and so much other songs of him.
Not to forget about his solo-songs, haha. Well, I really can keep going about this but I need to shut up because I need to shut down the computer *sigh*

Yes, from the Tibetan Book of the Dead (or Timothy Leary's version of it, "The Psychedelic Experience"). I don't think it matters whether he saw the words in a book or not – it's not everybody who would think of using them in a song.

Paul, for example , wouldn't use it for a song, I think. And especially not with such a melody John has used, haha. (The Dalai Lama singing atop of a mountain in Tibet, wasn't it? With a choir of nuns and monks? )

"Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see. It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out. It doesn't matter much to me."
It's always been Strawberry fields for me.
