It is sad that the human races thinks life so cheap.
If you think about it war is harder than peace and peace leaves the biggest impact. I always run into 'Republicans' from the US who seem to actually like war! I cannot understand this at all.
Also people now don't seem to care about peace, peace protests are small and the protesters always back down.
Something has to be done.

Well, there are still some people who care about peace, but it does seem like there's not enough being done. We're always hearing about how people are campaigning against poverty or global warming but there's never much in the news about peace protests etc anymore.

Yes, I found that on a gif site about a year ago. I am thinking of customising it so it has more than the hippy, the balloon and the octopus.

i accept it! maybe the peaceful ppl just don't stand out as much as those who do not accept it! plus ppl will have moods and disagreements.. and everything goes in havoc.. nothing is perfect! well at least there are still others today who do believe in peace ;D

I wish there was a peace movement similar to the 60's again. but will that ever happen? the music today sucks compared to the music back then when music was meaningful and all. with all the new technology no one wants to go back to nature. no one wants to get involved. we live in a hiphop generation where violence is cool and no one cares about the state of the world. well, there are alot of us that do but is it enough? will there ever be another powerful movement like in the 60's. I know i never lived it and i wish i had but the 60's were the best! maybe it will happen but seeing the youth of today its not likely. but never say never peace and love

The Peace movement is growing again and it wins new support on a daily basis. The war in Iraq is an unpopular war, much like Vietnam was when John wrote Give Peace A Chance. We no longer have John to write our anthems but his message lives on. The grass roots peace movements are being run by the mothers of soldiers killed in action. Please visit the following site for more info. www.mothersagainstwar.info/ War is over, if you want it.

Welcome, glad you got something out of it. The Peace movement will never die as long as there is war.

Why is it so hard to attain peace when my four year old gets the concept?

I guess its because war and dominance etc. is part of human nature, it's a leftover from the caveman/tribal days that's no longer needed.
And one thing that really annoys me are the people who say that we have to have war in order to have peace. Hello, wake up, if there's war then there cannot be peace!
And if all the corrupt power-hungry politicains in the world would just swallow their pride and greed, then we might have peace!
Like everyone's saying, its so simple yet hard to do, and that's sad.

And one thing that really annoys me are the people who say that we have to have war in order to have peace. Hello, wake up, if there's war then there cannot be peace! My religion teacher always says that people think in either one or another way to find peace. 1. Have a war first to make peace. 2. Let the politicians talk about it, instead of fight about it. And, just like you already said, swallow their pride. He also told us he is one of the latter kind, and then asked us (the pupils) what we thought. Most of the kids in my class actually voted for #1. I think I was, along with one or two other pupils the only one who actually voted for #2. And of course, there are the blokes that still seem to think war is so-called funny (but hey, the boy in my class who thinks so, also thinks diseases like cancer are funny, as well as bullying, hating other people, killing, and all other bad things)So.. most people don't even seem to give peace a chance, just by saying there should be war first.

I am totally out there fighting the good fight when it comes to peace. This war just cuts me so so deep. There is no reason to raise fists with another country when humans are the most ''civilized'' animals on earth. Yet instead of using words we continue to follow this destructive path into hate, oppression, and bigotry. The truth of the matter is you cannot fight for peace that is completely backwards and idiotic. The facts are that the people who are pulling the triggers and dropping bombs don't want peace, as much as this makes me cry. One day the world will heal and see that the ways of the gun will solve nothing and words will be used to settle arguments and put disagreement to a rest. John Lennon was a revolutionary as are all of you wonderful people, obviously we are thinking with the future while these disgusting capitalist power hungry political pigs live increasingly in the past. One day we will join hands and show the world what am impact numbers have over weapons. peace love and harmony <3
